I agree that the 2 needs age. I had a 16 recently that was rather meh. Still have one or two from 05 that a friend gifted me and they are rather nice.
I picked up a couple of the Reserva because I had the chance to get them at a decent price and it's always nice to have a few Reservas floating around in the desk top humi. Makes me happy I guess....

I've a couple of Epi1s from 1993, a few fresh and a couple of grand epi's with 5years on them. Will be interesting to compare.
Never tried an especial!
Epi2 I've liked, but just not stocked up .. money, space ...--
I think I may finally have this CAD under control...

I would love to try one out of your cabinet however!

Was OK but a lot of money for just OK.
I need to find the amazing smokes then put a few young ones down to brew.
However......the Cohiba Robusto is an amazing cigar and the Vegas Robina Famosa is great................do you know what just try them all hahaha

O had a Partagas series D at my Xmas do and tasted very good. I was completely bladdered though and a woman's sweaty shoe would have probably tasted nice too.
I will try another (not shoe) and have it in my next order wish list along with the RASS.
Cohiba is a bit rich for me and wasn't enamoured by the two I've had before.

I feel like i need to defend the Epicure 2 a little here, I am currently smoking my way through a 2015 cab and nearly every one of them have been a beautiful mixture of cream, gentle spice, and coffee. They're a reliable, hassle free sort of smoke, that have so far only let me down twice. I understand that it's widely accepted that current production (2017) Epicures are apparently falling short in both flavour and looks, but I think this reflects the capricious nature of Habanos, and like with most marca/vitolas they have their good and bad years.
I guess what I'm saying is, do not give up on these babies just yet...
I have a cab of 2016 Epicure Especial that are really being the stubborn mules at the moment - they smell fantastic, but the flavours are just not there, i am hoping a few more years may make them pronounced!
But back on topic, i would not consider purchasing any reserva for ?50+, the whole thing is just far too rich for me, I would prefer to use that money towards a box of regular production smokes...Only the impossible is worth the effort.

Absolutely, their will forever be fluctuations in cigar production it is a hand made product after all and of cause i definitely will try the epi2 again at some point, just for the last fer years its just brought me nothing, which in this hobble can leave us all to be a little critical at times.
I 100% agree with you in regards to investing in regular production cigars.
