I was out of a box and about 40% of the cigars had mold.

what humidity are you storing them at...I think you will have to drop your levels if 40% has mould.

They arrived today from the supplier. The box was sealed so the supplier would not have seen it.

If it was a few singles I personally would wipe the mould off and smoke if there isn't any on the feet of any of the cigars, too much hassle sending the back to the supplier

But as its a whole box it may be worth asking them to replace it

is this a UK supplier...anyway i'd ask for the whole box to be replaced and i would stay away from them...seems like they don't have ideal storage conditions if its the whole box.

Mould can grow very quickly. I've had a box come through from a trusted source who checks them with mould spots on by the time it arrived. Wiped them clean and never had any problems with the box since.
Shipping in current UK weather, cold temperature changes etc can cause mould to grow on cigars quite easily if they have been stored in a warm humidor prior to shipping.

Need to clean your humidor thoroughly. You don't want to spread that mould.

Sham, all UK boxes are opened by H&F, the only way to buy legit sealed Habanos in the UK, is from auction of foreign sold examples (& they are usually sold not for sale in the UK & sometimes not Europe either).

Cheers Simon.... I never knew h&f stock was all unsealed....i just assumed h&f check the stock first then the habanos and EMS stickers are applied in Cuba.

Good to know thou.so in theory you can't get a sealed EMS box.

In theory they inspect each box and sticker it. In fact we've seen a talisman with a beetle hole. Boxes with coffee stains on them...
