        That's a nasty split if that's a cigar!

            That certainly looks like mould.

Zoom out to so we can see the whole cigar.

              How endemic is it?

It sure looks like mould.. but.. might not be terminal...

Is the foot clear of mould?

              Does it dust off easily?

              Any more sticks affected?

It's always mould. Not really an issue though, wipe off and continue as normal. Or maybe lower your humidity if it's a problem.

Indeed but there's acceptable looking mould and nasty stuff, that don't look nice to me

                        Thanks for the replies.

I was out of a box and about 40% of the cigars had mold.

Excuse my ignorance, how do I distinguish between bloom and mould? A little worried now as some of my smokes have white spots. If it is mould then are they still ok to smoke? Many thanks.

Haroon, a simple way to tell the difference is to assume that Bloom/Plume doesn't exist and is a marketing trick, used by cigar merchants to flog mouldy stock!

IMHO it's all mould. But white mould is okay, brush it off, and smoke them! If it's green/brown colour, or if it has got into the foot then i would personally launch them...
