Cigar rotation

Silly question but how do you guys rotate your cigars in the humi and boxes.

So for my mini wine fridge I take the boxes out and try fit them in differently never really take the cigars out the boxes.

My desktop humi I just move where the boveda is laying...ie at the bottom , top or sandwich between cigars.

Is that ok or should I be taking the cigars out and re stacking them up? And taking the cigars out the box.

I only ask as sometimes the burn on some of my cigars are a bit one sided. Or the ash is a bit hard at times...anyone had that problem? I use 65 boveda in the hum sits nicely at 65. The wineador at the moment is 68 but I do have 4 or 5 boveda in there so I've decided to take 3 out.

Yes/no. I do but with no specific plan. I try to move around those sticks which have been pressed against the wooden sides / dividers of a humi. In my locknlock boxes i tend not to as the volume of air in them is modest and so ought to be pretty universally humis. Also there is no leeching of moisture into the container etc.

Like Matt, above, I don't tend to move my boxes around in the tupperdors unless it's to make more space for more boxes. In the singles humi I'll occasionally move stuff away from the walls.

Old Man, Look At My Life...

It’s called “canoeing” (when a stick burns on one side). Goofy term, indeed. But the real question - how to correct the burn on a “canoeing” cigar?





Now, regarding rotation, I did this when I was a knewbee Couldn’t keep me mitts off of ‘em. I no longer bother.

I pull everything out once a year to check everything for mould etc but that's the only time it gets moved around. Once it goes back it all stays there till the next year. I don't think there's any need to rotate as far as I'm concerned.

I don't rotate in boxes but the only change around my boxes get is when I have to retrieve a box at the back on the Boli Cave & then put them back in a slight different order & level but nothing planned.

I don't rotate. But I do open the humidor and have a sniff often enough!

Canoeing maybe deserves its own thread! And has nothing to do with rotating in storage IME!
