General interest in cigars

So there I was wondering.... And according to google trends general interest in the topic of cigars has been stable on the whole since the internet age after an initial dip. With the relaxation of the embargo from the states I thought interest would rise.

Is it because a lot of cigar interest is not on teh interwebs? What with sales and forums I thought it would be on a steady rise!

Perhaps the youth are not getting into cigars? Then I thought I'd see a downward trend.

I think if you are already into cigars in the states then you would be interested in the relaxation of the embargo but I don't think this would really recruit any new smokers. Maybe the increase in sales is down to those smokers buying more rather than more people taking up the hobby.

If think the culture of it being bad for you has an effect. I know people my age where constantly having the anti smoking message in the 90s at school. I think its also the way its portrayed like most people I know younger than me associate cigars and pipes with there grandads.
