• What is on your Christmas List?

I know that most of us will just buy what we like, when we like within reason and our own individual tastes and budgets, but is there a special stick (or sticks) that you are looking at as a special treat for the upcoming Festive Season?

I'm trying with my first box purchase (after vowing that I was 'done' for this year yesterday!)

Funnily enough I've just ordered my xmas smokes yesterday! Some aged Ramon Allones Gigantes, Party 8-9-8s and some ERDM Choix Supremes. Ho Ho Ho

Waiting for the German RE and maybe a few others once we know what they will be. Also would like some Lusis and could use more 898's, Libertadors and Connie A's. Will probably get them in Germany in January.
And I'm waiting for Sig VI's to hit the French market again.

I'm hoping to pick up a box of the QdO regional at christmas, along with whatever I can find in a couple of Lyonaise tabacs. There's also a trip to Gesto in Geneva on the cards so I'll be grabbing a box or 2 there if the travel gods come through for me.

What are flights looking like Horsebox? I've been searching for a decent one myself, but the cost of the flight would outweigh the saving, so haven't bothered as of yet. Let me know if you find one at a fair price!

K444HEP We're planning to fly in to Lyon and out of GVA as have friends and family in both cities as well as in the French Alps. The fact that Gesto is in Geneva is a bonus!

If you can fly midweek and outside of peak skiing season you'll probably find some good flights but I'd think of it more as a trip to Geneva with the added attraction of buying cigars, rather than a way to save money on stogies, especially given the 50 cigars per person customs restrictions from non-Eu Switzerland.

Spain probably the best bet for cheap flights or even a day return on Eurostar to Belgium.

I shall be heading to Piedmont in a few weeks, hopefully can stock up on some Italian REs, and maybe grab a few 3/5ers of tubos (no room in my tupper for more boxes ) for Christmas travels

In terms of smoking, I might try one of the CoRos I've got stashed away, last one I had was last July but it was underwhelming. Also got some massive sticks like the HdM double corona which I'll need time off just to smoke!

I'm looking at a Box of RyJ Cedros Nr1 and some Cuaba Generosos. Might have to wait till Christmas as I've blown the budget while on Holiday last week

Hello Horsebox, as it happens I'm from Lyon. There are two main cigar shops in Lyon. The first one is Cigarestore, really central, good choice of non-cubans and recent cuban cigars. The other one is ludgunum cigare (my favorite), you can find some real gems and vintages over there. They are not allowed to mark up on vintages, I've bought some SLR Lonsdale for ?7.5 each to give you an idea. If you need a smoking lounge/bar you could go to the "cour des loges" hotel.

Hi Canistreli, I love Lyon, it's my favourite city in France. Am familiar with both Cigarestore and Lugdunum. Was there in April and visited both - picked up the last few Bolivar CG's that Lugdunum had in stock and will be returning for sure in December.

I didn't know about the Cour des Loges smoking lounge so that's very useful information to have. Merci!
