    Fellow cigar lovers,

I have come to the point i'm sure most of you will have reached.

After trying cigars for a fair while now, i have realized something...

Quality over quantity - less is more.

For the more astute among us, learn from this advice - Buy Cubans or at least more expensive cigars because 9/10 times you get what you pay for!

Although it my be tempting to some to go on Cgars and look at all the ?3-5 sticks and buy a dozen, my advice it to buy half as many or a third as many.

Disclaimer - Some cheaper cigars are awesome and i do have a few on my good list that are cheap but awesome.

If anyone disagrees with me i encourage you to reply and let me know why.

Oh wait, i'm on UKCF... who is going to need encouragement to voice their opinion?!

It's true, quality over quantity is prudent with cigars. Sometimes less is more though. Like gauge of cigar for example, a fatter stogie isn't necessarily tastier.

Well that depends, there are quite a few cheap sticks that are very good smokes IMO:

      PLPC
      PL Montecarlos
      HUHC
      Hoyo du Prince
      LGC No.4
      Party Shorts
Monte No.5 (if you get a good box)

You can add a few Petit Corona to that (Boli, HU, JL)

Mostly nor do I luckily . ERDM DT and JLP Cazadores are good smokes for less than ?6 in the uk though, I've smoked about 10 New World cigars in my life so I have no clue on anything non Cuban... as opposed to being only moderately ignorant when it comes to Cubans

The Inca secret blend range .. well the petite coronas are very very good and that's my favorite size vitolas. They don't even need aging! Am wondering how opening up to the US market will affect production.... Time will tell.

Those JLP cazadores are also decent. One of the sticks I started out on.

Los to try! The journey is better than the destination .. usually

I think I may finally have this CAD under control...

Some I think are good are:

                        Inka secret blend blue
                        Inka secret blend red
                        La Rica Tubitos
                        Dividoff Winston Churchill petit panetela
                        Jose L piedra petit cetros

These are just a small amount of cheaper sticks I've tried. Keep in mind that me saying they're good is based on the ratio of price to flavour/quality.

This is very similar to a thread I posted a couple of weeks ago. When I got my humidor I just wanted to fill it, I bought as many cheapish cigars as I could. I've had some enjoyable smokes but a lot that were neither here or there and some that were rubbish.

Now I'm more selective, theres still some cheaper sticks I like but I'd rather spend more for a more enjoyable smoke. still a bit of a lottery though

I must have missed your thread whilst I was searching for similar ones before I posted mine.

Just goes to show that this transition must happen to a fair few smokers though.

Very true, and surprisingly enough they're all Cubans. What a coincidence!
