Pipe tobacco-esque cigars

Hi guys,

Bit of a weird question here. I'm very intrigued by all the flavoured pipe tobacco blends I've seen on the market, and floating around the forums. As I'm not quite ready to make the leap into pipe smoking, I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations of similar flavours etc from flavoured cigars?

there are a bunch of flavoured cigars out there.... just keep them well away from your main collection as the flavours will transfer. Have a look on some of the UK vendor sites and you will find some. I seem to remember [MENTION=13402615]PeeJay[/MENTION] may have sampled them in the past? Chocolate or cherry from memory?

probably just as expensive as getting a basket pipe and sample of an aromatic mix tobacco though...

If you want to try a slightly sweeter cigar the Larutan range from Drew Estate are quite pleasant, a gentle sweetness but not overpowering. The Tabak Especial is also interesting - infused with coffee.

I like to keep a cab (very cool cab, BTW) of "Blondies" by Drew Estates around for those special moments when I feel like a "desert" cigar or when entertaining a bird or two.

Comes in cabs of 40 and are about the size of a Siglo I. Perfect!

But as se?or Toxophilite noted, keep 'em away from your regulars. I seal my cab in a giant double-sealed baggie which is stored in don TJ's massive unit. No problm.

As mentioned in the "What are you smoking?" thread, I tired a Leon Jimenes Blonde. I have to say it was my first and last flavoured cigar.

The smoke did have a relatively pleasant aroma, but it was too sweet on the lips. Is this what the flavoured pipe blends are like? I'm thinking things that are named black cherry/apricots and cream etc?

I wouldn't have thought so, a lot of flavoured cigars have sweetened caps which you obviously discovered.

I find pipe tobacco tastes nothing like the descriptions on the tins. Those flavours are more in the smell of the tobacco and sometimes the smoke in the air - the 'room note'.
