  • Humidor advice needed please

Currently store my humidor in my wardrobe and with a couple of Biveda packs in there the humidity is nice and stable. Was a bit concerned about the heat and had thought about moving it down to my basement. A couple of issues that concerned me about doing this so thought I would seek advice from anyone kind enough to offer it.
the basement is used for storing my wine cellar and my wife's shoe collection. It has not be ranked and therefore we use a dehumidifier to keep the damp away. Would this adversely affect my cigars if I kept the humidor down there ?
It is generally the coolest place I. The house in the summer and as underground is fairly mild during even th e harshest of winters . I assume that this temperature wise would be good , would I be correct ??

Temp wise yes, although if it's a drastic decrease you may want to move it slowly... so there isn't a sudden temp drop.

Humidity wise, if the humi has a good seal, all should be ok. Maybe double up on the Boveda for safe measure and check regularly...

    Others may have different advice.

We all struggle to keep our Humis cool this time of year and if your fortunate to have a basement that would be perfect. Keep the humi air tight for a couple of days to climatise. You can always put it back in your wardrobe come Autumn if you have any concerns.
Its sudden extreme changes are best avoided. Enjoy.

By way of a reassurance.... It is also 25-30 degrees in havana this week, and i asure you they arent dashing around trying to find dark cool places to roll, form and box cigars....

Dont stress... Relax. As above its the sudden and rapid change thats a problem.... Think, sucdenlynthe heating is on and the humi is sat next to a radiator for 8 hours.... It will start to dry the heck out, and may warp your humi. So, make sure your humi has a good seal, put out of direct sunlight or direct heat sources, and away from direct breezes.... And chill. Perhaps even have a cigar..... This is a relaxing hobby.
