Sage advice.

Smoke your way through the marcas you like the most and get a fiver or a box of those you favor. There are a lot of good smokes out there that are relatively inexpensive. Maybe purchase a few LE's and RE's from time to time, if there's something you really like go for a box.

But beware, it's easy to get carried away and you can end up with a lot of sticks in no time.

I smoke around 25 cigars a month and over 90% of them are regular production.

Maybe give them a little more time. I find that when I'm in a hurry to try something new that I'm not blown away most of the times. After at least three months the sticks get better. After a year of so even more. There aren't to many cigars that smoke well young IMO, a couple come to mind though: HUHC and Hoyo Petit Robusto.

Agreed on HUHC and Hoyo PR... nice enough young but have also found they improve with some age too!

I agree on the HUHC and the HdMPR. I have a Party Lusitania and, based on what you say, I'll try it sooner than I was planning and will get a Mag 46 now too. Question: I recently bought a box of Bolivar Belicosos Finos - how will they smoke young? Do stronger CC merit a longer wait as a rule or not necessarily?

The BBFs, to my taste, tend to need quite a bit of time to smooth out the roughness. More so than the BRC. That being said, if you bought a box I'd sample one every 6 months or so, to better assess how they're ageing and, once you find your sweet spot, some away.
