Hi. I'm thinking of buying a box or two of these. I've been reading that they need some time to come their best. How long approx would that be (I assume from the date on the box)?
I've had a couple of boxes of these at the recommendation of forum goers & they are superb. They keep improving with time but that wouldn't stop me smoking 1 fresh. [emoji106]
Didn't answer the question there did I! [emoji848]
I think Simon Bolivar may be able to help here, I understand they're at their best after 20+ years although the ones I have smoked have been far younger and were still outstanding smokes
Aye Shepsea, once upon a time Martyn & I were lu ky dnough to buy few boxes of 1990. These were sheer bliss & although that was about 10yrs ago, they were 16yrs old tben. I smoked my last Christmas morning 2016, then 26yrs old & it was streaks ahead of the 2001 I am smoking. But tbe secret isn"t just tbe age but the tobbaco used in 1990 aged better the post 2001.
I am keeping a box on 2001 for another 5yrs & I'll see if they compRe but I suspect not. To ansser your question if you can keep a couple of boxes 3-5yrs, you'll appreciate the difference. For older smokes I would suggest buying stock with some age to start with ;0)
