• What are your Fav smokes with these drinks?

A different slant on the usual, what's your top 3/10 cigars of all time ect. Think most of us probably have a go to cigar or two for whatever we are planning to drink or what drink we might chose in a bar if someone offered us acetian cigar. THis trick here is regular lines only, no LE/RE/ LCDH & the tricky bit, still in production. My idea is that the less experienced members might then try our fav combinations & see if they work for them.
You'll notice no doubt I missed off tea. I usually drink black Earl Grey & haven't found any cigar that is a great match, although I most enjoyed the RG Slenderella's but of course they were officially deleted in 2006 although I never saw any boxes dated later than 2001.

The vintages aren't important, I have listed the boxes/ cabs I am currently smoking from:

Black coffee: Hoyo Epi No2 2004
Beer light/blonde e.g. Stella/ Corsendonk Blonde ERDM CS 2005
Beer Dark: e,g, Leffe Bruin RAG 2010
Wine Red: Boli CG 2002
Wine White: PL PC 2006
Champagne: ERDM DT 2001
Gin & Tonic: LGC No4 2002
Rum: Punch Churchill 2003
Whiskey: Cohiba Lanceros 2001

Good idea Simon.

I'm perhaps not experienced enough to do an extensive list like yours but one pairing I do like is coffee and an ERDM DT, perhaps this is more to do with it being a very delicate smoke and most of my coffee drinking being done in the morning. It works for me though

Indeed Alex, ERDM DT is also a perfect match for coffee & that's how I have them when I am fishing.

Similar position to alex, I don't smoke enough for a go-to pairing but I do enjoy a Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No.2 with cognac
Give me ambiguity or give me something else.

Very interesting thread idea!

Don't have too many go-to combinations, but I always seem to enjoy a Monte Edmundo with a drop of rum

Aye, Monte's & rum Dave. Mind you apart from the lightest Havanas, I'd say they all go well with a drop of rum, it is the local drink after all! Over the yrs I have favoured whiskey but having bought 3 bottles of rum recently I am getting into them.

I can't really play this game as I smoke everything with Coke or coffee.

So you don't drink tea John & you haven't found a match for tea?

I think this HDM epi 1 I'm smoking as I type would go quite nicely with tea, maybe green tea more so. Admittedly I've not tried it together.

The only time I drank tea Simon it was with a My Father Las Antilles and I discovered what cigar sickness was! Unsweetened tea and very early in my cigar smoking journey and not to be repeated. I have had cigars with distinct tea notes though.

You can always try that out next time Alex, don't forget to let us know how the pairing works. I really struggle to find a cigar compatable with tea, the acidity just doesn't do the cigar any favours IMHO.

I haven't got far enough into the hobby to mix and match specific cigars with drinks, but a winning combo for me is a RASCC with a pint or 2 of Guinness.

Other than that I tend to go for hoppy ales and beers when I smoke, but have enjoyed various teas including a sample from Niela and a naturally sweet loose leaf blend that we got from a shop in Lyon.

I'll post up details when I get home if anyone is interested.

These. Zowie & I did a blind tasting on all three & both agreed the Club Havana was the best & lucky for us it was the best price so I bought a replacement in Havana.
