Change of Belgian regulation regarding to warning stickers
All boxes will be opened before shipping
    Dear Aficionado's,

Due to a change of the Belgian regulation regarding to warning stickers, every box will be opened before shipping. From now they have to put a warning sticker inside the cigar box, so we will not be able to ship closed boxes anymore.

A possitive side of this change, we will be able to check every box before shipping, so we can ensure you that the boxes will arrive in perfect condition.

Interesting change.... A peculiar law if ever there was one.
I have not ordered from them .... Never found their prices to be too keen despite usually having excellent stock choices.

I know no one on this fine forum would ever order from abroad with declaring tax but can we be careful as to where this thread goes

Get your point Peanut Pete But I can buy & consume in Belgian & of course any member can buy there when visiting & return to the UK with them, up to 200 sticks for personal consumption. I haven't heard of anyone actually ordering boxes from Belgium from the UK, as mentioned; the prices just aren't that attractive. I haven't heard of this new rule but will mention it next time I visit Antwerp LCDH.

at the risk of side swiping the thread, I am not averse to having my boxes inspected... now this might be all together too trusting, but you might hope that decent vendors are simply checking quality, rather than tinkering with the contents.

I thought this was EU law, seen the labels inside on boxes in Germany and UK as well.

Prices in Belgium are like 1/3 or more cheaper than UK prices depending on the brands, not the cheapest you will find by no means, but its still much cheaper for anyone popping over.

Yeah, probably more from the States than UK I would imagine. However on a different note, I had a thought this afternoon: H&F claim for part of their high prices is because is box is individually checked. If all of Europe started to do that, then H&F service isn't worth a penny more. Especially as we have long discounted their claim to get better quality of cigars than other distributers in Europe.

I've always thought that claim was condescending nonsense; as if suppliers from other countries would accept inferior cigars to H&F stock!

Also makes me chuckle every time heer that EMS cigars are of higher quality haha..........and that there quality contoll checks are of a superior service to anyone else haha its been a common practise for distributers to check there products for decades

Like Habanos are going to make there cigars superior for one nation but worse for another...........so the UK are going to get the better selection but Spain who consume more cigars on a daily basis then the UK, France and Italy put together are gonna get the cheep crop hahah

                      Such a ludicrous claim seriously
