  • Is it acceptable??

I was out walking the dogs in the week. Decided to have a nice smoke whilst I was out. But the cigar didn't want to burn. Lit it several times but it was a bit tight. So let it go out, popped it back in it's tube and came home.
Went out again today and decided I wanted to finish it off. But wasn't sure so left it.
It's a RyJ Churchill and I've smoked about 5-10mm of it.
Can I just light it back up? Do I have to cut off the front end where the burn is and then smoke or is it dead and destined for the bin?

I think you also need to be brave enough to give a tightly rolled cigar the flick. It becomes such an effort to smoke it that any enjoyment is completely negated. Tough when you've paid good money, but consider it similar to a corked bottle of red wine....

OK, will consign it to the bin. Which hurts as I'm only slowly building my stock up. Hey ho. Thanks for saving me from a horrible tasting smoke.

I persevered with a tight petit edumndo on a lovely evening in Rome..... The setting and occassion persuaded me to persist, right up until it gave me a headache from trying to draw too hard for too long...

put me right off the vitola for a while..... Ditch it and dont go back.its a pain but its handmade etc... Roll with the punches if you pardon the pun...

Gonna get these hiccups with cigars from time to time........best thing to do is just toss it for another stick. However......if a stick is good and has been out for a while, theirs nothing wrong with relighting, the first few draws may be a bit grubby..........buts its no big deal!

            cheers

It was about a week between first try and my thoughts of relighting

When I was on a cruise a few years ago I saw an American come into the smoking lounge and light up. After smoking about a third of his stick he snipped off the lit end and popped the remainder in his pocket for next time.

I had it in it's tube but resisted putting it back in the humi. Glad I did now

I've seen this happen also, amazing what a mess and stink one cigar makes!
As for relighting, a week is pushing it for me
