They work fine, you just need to push the cap up against the side to stop it cutting fully through the cap.

I've used it on cigars as small as a demi taste and as big as a mag 56 without any issues.

I use a Xikar Xi2 predominantly, ive got a nice Adorini lighter that I always carry with me that has 2 punches built in so I can always use that in a pinch if I end up with an impromptu smoke.

Never tried a V cut, does anyone prefer these over a guillotine?

don't fancy biting an end off a cigar. Knowing me I'd be chewing tobacco for weeks

Can anyone recommend the below cutter?

I'm considering buying a decent quality one and these seem to be in a mid price range and look nice in my opinion.

I had one of these and it just wasn't sharp enough and tore the wrapper unless you closed it with a snap

I tend to use a Xkiar x2 cutter, i used to have a really cheap one, then decided to buy a good quality one as a bday present to my self, i see why they are more expensive...they are nice and Sharpe and don't really go blunt, my cheapo one was ripping the tobacco...I have a punch and tend to use this on larger rg cigars, but not all the time.. just as and when i feel too.

What do you find are the sharpest cutters? I want one that will cut neatly without having to snap it closed.

I'd recommend a Xikar, I've had mine around 5 years and it still cuts great every time.

I'm with Alex on the Xikars but I may have had a poor Colibri, their V cutter is superb.

I've opted for a Xikar. Not one of the expensive ones but should be good enough for me.

It's the only decent cutter I've ever had, like you I was using the cheap (free) ones before. I was a little hesitant to recommend it when I've not owned or tried many to compare but mines worked faultlessly for a fair amount of time.

I'm tempted to try a V cut though.

I also seen cigar scissors, I'm really not sure about those though, anyone any experience with them?

I have a pair and have used them on small ring guages, not sure if I trust them for a big cigar. They could be quite useful for an emergency circumcision though
