  • Buying cigars in Cuba?

Unfortunately it's not me going to cuba, but it's my parents next year.

It's their first time going and everyone has asked for a big cuban cigar to bring home. Now my mother is happy enough to do that, but she is a little worried about the price as I have quite a large family. Is their anyone here who has been to cuba and would recommend a decent but cheap cigars for her to give as presents?

Also a few dearer/better ones as I'm going to ask her to bring me home a clatter of nice cigars and the type of prices to expect to pay for them.

I have also heard that theirs a lot of fakes in Cuba and to be weary as to where you get them from, so any advice on this would also be gratefully received.

I know its next year, still some time away, but I figured best getting advice early and i know/my parents know what to expect.

    Check out prices here http://yulcigars.blogspot.co.uk/

All prices are government regulated and priced in CUC. ONLY BUY FROM LCDH!!! They're the government ran shops and are the only place to get legitimate smokes in cuba.

You'll be lucky to find any Behike's Shamz84, I have heard from friends who have returned this year & none were found. I'll be looking of course but not too hopeful. Newtocigars, if oyu are looking for real Havanas them go for a box of Montecristo No4 or 3 depending on budget. They will be easy to find in the LCDH & are great starter smokes. If they are for others that don't really smoke cigars but you want to give them as gifts then there's always the Guantanamera; they tell me some do love them but I can't understand why? They sell them everywhere; you don't have to worry about them being fakes, it isn't worth any fakers time making them & if they did you wouldn't be able to tell the difference anyway!

Thats very true, but with the recent shipment in some places, might mean they are back...however i can see there prices would have increased due to the demand.r

Another as a gift might go down nicely is the Quintero as they look nicer to your average joe the might think they are smoking great...i've never had one but have read some positive things about them too and they now come in tubos.

Might be better if you posted a new thread as this is a year old but to answer your question, almost all robustos (not Cohiba) will be around a fiver each so take your pick. Only let her buy from LCDH as fakes are rife
