Having tried one, it is decided that they will make good ballast...
I might send some down to my 'ex' gaffer...who recently made me redundant, in the hope he'll choke on them haha.

Having given them a second chance...I revoke my last statement!
I wanted a quick smoke tonight, so figured wasting a fake Cohiba wouldn't be a bad thing.
An hour later, and I still have a third left, the first 2 thirds being ok.

I've asked Uncle Google all about fake sticks...and although some things confirm these as fakes, some things also question that theory.
The 'Cohiba' is embossed on these. The cigars seem pretty consistent in appearance and feel.
The spacing of the lettering and blocks are quite ok, the comma is in the right place and the C of Cuba is correct.
But...the bands are loose, easy to un-stick and certainly don't meet.
A shame really, but this particular stick is no different to say, the Charatans I once smoked.

madgaz this (above) is the single reason I think they are fake...

I had some hooky cohibas years ago and they smoked ok. they were cohiba ish in taste, and burned well.so fake doesn't necessarily mean terrible.

That's because there are various degrees of fakes. There are genuine factory made cigars with the wrong bands on pretending to be something more expensive. There are custom rolls with genuine bands added to dupe the buyer, there are things that are barely cigars filled with floor sweepings and bits of dried banana leaf and so on.
