72% in humidors

Hi guys in the cigars I have being smoking I have noticed burning problems very un even needing touch up . This must be 72 boveda in humidor is too damp so now I'm my scubador I have just put in 65% hf beads going to store my boxes at this humidity so my question is why some cracks at foot if 72% is wetter thanks trying to get my head around this humidity control

Also some monti no 4 if have are rock hard even at 72 % 1985 box cheers

1985 montes will be hard unless you have stored them at 72 from 1985, as for cracked foot on sticks can be all sorts of reasons including over humidity or change in RH quickly.

Hi Decky. I read somewhere in the archives that inconsistent humidity levels can sometime cause wrappers to crack - something to do with swelling and shrinking due to humidity changes. I also read that dry boxing (whatever that is) can improve a over-humidified cigar.

Thanks lads I have heard dry boxing is putting a few cigars in travel box with out boveda and smoke after a week that's my take on it never done it thou
