• Recommend me first box of CC

Hello again folks .

I am looking to get first box (pack??) of cubans. Since I only smoked few (RyJ no2 Tubos, Siglo II, Monte Tubos, JLP petit Cazadores, ELDM Demi Tasse, think that would be all) I have no idea what to look for.

My only requirement would be for now lower end of the market. Packs of 3,5 or boxes of 10 - this way I could try some while keeping one or two in humi.

Any pointers?

Cheers.
Tom

Tom to be honest when it comes to Cuban cigars you need to try them for yourself
what we like might not suit your taste.
You need to try a few like most of us have to see what you like
a friend on this forum spent quite a bit trying different cigars till he found the holy grail.

I understand. So would I be better off just buying say two of each to try out?

Even top named brands most of us like didn't suit him just goes to show just because it's a popular brand everyone likes I'm going to like it too.

Id go for one of each personaly incase you don't like the cigar, then you got another looking at you that you don't like.

Buying singles until you find something you like is a great idea, its what I have been doing. Hope to have a few boxes soon of the ones I really like, packs of 3/5 arent a bad idea though, if you want to buy in that format some monte no 5/4s or trini reyes might fit the bill.

Id buy the packs of 3 and 5s when I knew I'd like the brand just my opinion
otherwise go singles way.

What do you mean Tony? Those CC I mentioned in my first post were just those I tried, not those I dislike. I already have Reyes and Cazadores in shopping basket, just was looking for another suggestions I mostly browse/shop at my smoking shop, so I may be missing something.

But if you're talking about my yesterday's review of little Oliva, well, after some reading I wouldn't say I was the first person dissappointed by them.

Like always, thank you all for input .

I would definitely go down the singles route to begin with or some retailers do different samplers. It's all part of the fun of the cigar hobby trying the various brands and vitolas. Once you've found a few favourites then you can start buying boxes.

What I'm saying tom is the cigars your thinking of smoking that you haven't tried yet buy single one's
the one's you tried and liked then buy in 3s 5s and boxes of 10 or more.

I'd wait until you have pm's and can take part in box splits etc before you start jumping into buying boxes, it's well worth the wait.

Tom Major. If you have a look on Cgars website, they have some really good sampler packs. They contain a good variety, if I remember right, you can get CC's & NC's etc.
When I first started out, I tried a few & it introduced my palate to a variety of tastes etc.

There you go...

Definitely just keep trying singles until you've tried a few from each brand to know what you really like. Por Larra?aga, Ramon Allones, Bolivar, Cohiba, Upmann, Montecristo, Partagas, Trinidad etc all need trying before you buy a box of 10 I'd say. There's loads of vitolas out there, finding the right size and flavour profile for you is crucial before committing to a box in my opinion Tom.
I love Por Larra?aga, Upmann and Cohiba (when I can afford it) but make sure you shop around the different brands first, enjoy the journey!! [emoji4]

I am waiting, but there is still fair bit to go before I reach 75 posts .

@wayne_w

Thanks for the link. Had a look and think I'll build my own sampler

@Matt Wall

Will do, thanks .
