You must have been very unlucky Stevieboy, I've never had a plugged punch - had loads of Punch RS11's, Churchill's, DC's and super selections and not one plugged, had a few plugged San cristobal's and found it improved with age, bad cigars? not really had a bad Cuban (never tried a guantamara though!) had some shit NC's in the state's recently, think one was a maconado, tasted like cardboard no flavour at all (may have been a bit dry) get the feeling I might be able to add to that list when I get to start going through me NC haul...lol

lmao
Oh i forgot about Punch, my few experiences with them have been average at best, granted they were tubos from ASDA, bought for the purpose of a quick smoke with a mate. Really annoying to keep lit and was not fun at all, the flavor was grimey too i recall, ill stick with the Don tomas grand coronas when I go to asda!sigpic

Interesting thread, Mister Bulgarin. Let me lament about some of the worst sticks I have endured, during my earlier years of getting into stogies.
First off - Hav-a-Tampa Jewel. Bought for me by a mate out in Vegas. The wrapper peeled, and it tasted literally, of wrapping paper. Weak. Watery.
Second lamentation - Swisher Sweet. Not swish, not sweet, just cheap & nasty.
Third lamentation - King Edward Invincible. I had four or five of these sticks before I read around the stogie subject, and they nearly put me off for good.
Fourth - Hamlet. In fact, they're not too disastrous, seeming as though supermarket buyers keep stocking up, they're relatively cheap, and cheerful. But comparing them with the real thing, they're a lame duck smoke.
--- Looking forward to reading more no-go's before heading off to stock up on the wish-list in a few weeks' time!
Cheers guys.

Mine has to be a Villiger
These were gastly. Imagine a hamlet cigarillo, englarge it to 38 ring gauge and you have one of these. Yuck, I gave my second one to a mate (to which we collectively condemned it)
The second was a Nat Sherman 1400 series (cant recall the name, the foot was square-ish). Just a lifeless smoke! I seldomly bought another from my local store as it was all they had (that I was willing to buy), again it was just boring, really hard going, kept going out. overall just pooy, glad the shop stopped selling them.
Cohiba Siglo 2
Hold your horses, I love this cigar to death, My cohiba count so far is 19 so Ive had a fair few of em. But ive had one bad experience with a Siglo 2, the cigar was so tight, ridiculously tight, no smoke could even get through, someone at the factory was having a bad day id imagine.
Partagas Serie D No4
This was my first and last (currently) Partagas. This kind of put me off partagas, talk about first impressions. The smoke was really un-fun, hard to draw on, un-fufilling puffs of smoke, slow stupid burn, didnt like it. I hope for Partagas' sake that it was just a one off. I dont dislike partagas, but this first experience havent made buying another a top priority in my cigar experimenting tenure.
What are some of your bad smokes / bad smoking experiences?
I brought these large Villigers home. I tried the first one in my shack. It was so rank I almost threw up. After two puffs, I destroyed it and the thing and its two brothers were crushed and dumped.
Bizarrely, the ash made me feel sick as much as the taste. It had no form, and the cigar was really constructed of factory-floor flakes. There was no majestic leaf-clutch ash that you get in a well-rolled cigar.
The D4 objection seems funny. They sex me up at every toke. I feel two feet taller.
Whisk - Rolled by an arthiritic chimp.
Wonderful stuff, Sir!

And about the Psd4, i realy dont feel that is the best cigar form part or atleast to represent the line. Even a party short has more partagas flavor then the Pd4. If you ever get a chance to try a party lonsdale jump all over it.

A few months back my wife invited a work colleague of hers and her husband over for a few drinks and a meal.
Knowing that I was a cigar lover and in an effort to 'fit in/impress - I don't know' the poor lad brought some cigars with him...!?!
He explained that this is what he and his father smoked when they got together and that they both really enjoyed this smoke...!!!
From his jacket pocket he produced a couple of cellophane encased sticks...
The Don Alvaro...
Well F**K me this was possibly the worst cigar I have ever had the misfortune to smoke, I might have done better to leave the cellophane wrapper on whilst I smoked it in the vain hope that I passed out from toxic inhalation.
Never, and I mean never go near this cigar - pointless and horrible...
Cheers, HabanoSy
