    Hey guys

I've only been collecting Cigars properly since the end of the year...so when temperature have been quite cold.

However this week has been the hottest so far and about to get to 24/26 degrees this weekend.

My question is really about what is the maximum temperature we should allow our Cigar storage to reach..I know they say 16-18 is the best. At the moe they are sitting at 20-21.

long term, I reckon about 16-18c. Short jumps up to the very early 20's should be ok to my mind, though I wouldn't want them there for a long while.

    all just personal opinion

This is a common worry & something I used to fret about as well. We had a couple of summers when the temps reached 30oC for more than a month or so. I went out & bought a wine fridge & used it for that season. It never happened again (over 10yrs ago now) & I got rid of the wine fridge. I was most worried about hatching cigar weevils back in those days, which was a real threat then but since Habanos have been freezing all their export stock, I haven't had aproblem. Whether the temps above 25oc affect the long term aging properties of our expensive investment? Well they come from the tropics you know :O) I would think that months or yrs at high temps wouldn't produce the ageing we typically expect in UK but as the hot spells in our summers are rather short, I would just keep in the coolest part of the house & not worry unduly; especially if you not expecting to age them 5yrs+.
