Sorry if this is a repeat.

Can you have too many packs in your humidor......?

I ask because i've had problems with a P2 tonight, i've had to light it several times and i'm not a slow smoker. I suspect it is over himidified.

When i set my humidor up, a 60 ct cube i just asked mysmokingshop for boveda packs and he gave me 3 x 60 gram 69% packs.

Probably rather naively i've gradually put all 3 in. I havent had a problem with any other cigar until now, i've had the P2 for about 4 - 5 months
Initially in a tuperdor and the last 2 months in the cube

    Is it 1 x 8g per 25
    Or
    1 x 60g per 25

    I've confused myself......

    Thanks

I can't imagine too many being a problem with them being self regulating? Unless the bovedas are at the bottom and the p2 was at the top of the humi. But even so I wouldn't expect a huge variation between the two. Mine is a couple of percent higher in the top drawer. Could it have been the humidity of where you smoked it?

No issue at all, they just last longer.

Maybe switch to 65%? I don't get on with 69% myself, prefer them slightly drier.

        Thanks Starkey,

        It's a 3 drawer with 1 pack in each

Self regulating is just what i was thinking but never had this issue with a party before.
Don't think it's where i'm smoking it as i'm indoors in front of an open fire

1 pouch for every 25 cigars a humidor can hold 60 grm pouches.

            Thanks Tony

So 3 x 60g packs would be about right then

              1 pouch 25 cigars
              2 pouch 50 cigars
3 pouches 75 and so on.

I use about 3 in my 100ct and it works fine, every now and then (few months) I need to recharge one of them, but it keeps the RH with just two for short periods.

                  Thanks Krist

So i think i'm going to drop to a 65% and only use 2

                  See if that sorts it.

                  Cheers

I'm sure that it doesn't matter how many that you have, as long as they're all the same spec. They will regulate to the % that they are specced to.
I find that if your humi is close to a radiator it can cause havoc!
A temperature range from 18-22c will suffice.
It what makes our 'hobby' interesting & testing!!

It's not near a radiator, i have it in our dining room on the table at the mo. The temp doesnt fluctuate much in there but this time of year it doesnt get any where near 18? c, more like 12-13?, it's not a warm house, our only source of central heating is a coal fire in the front room...... temperature may have affected it.

I did the same as Budgie Smuggler is suggesting.
I changed from 69 to 65 for my cuban stock and feel it smokes better now.

I wouldn't recommend you go all in. It may not be for you.

Try picking a couple of sticks and place them in a tub for a while with some 65%'s.
Smoke them and see how you find them, and then either go all in or leave as they are.

That makes a lot of sense, thanks for the advice👍
