In short, arrived at The Cavendish at 10.00, 1a at 10.15 but closed so up the road to JJs for first of the day which for me was a RyJ short Churchill.
Next a little clothes shopping along Jermyn Street (has to be my favourite area of London) fish and chips for lunch in a back street pub and back down to 1a to finish the afternoon off. Duped for the second time in one day as it was pretty much a full house at Roberts so back to JJs to finish of the afternoon with a Magnun 46.
Hotel, change for Diner which was fillet steak at Rowleys coupled with a bottle Merlot and then on to the Wiskey Lounge in Soho to end the evening, and what wonderful place. Initially we could not find it as its just a door in amungst the hassle and bustle of a busy Old Compton street on a Saturday night. Once found one the buzzer pushed we were allowed through the door to find a narrow stairway. At the top again a normal looking door with no signs and we gingerly entered.
Warmly welcomed a couple of Laphroig 10 year olds were ordered and it was out into the rooftop terrace, despite the rather wild and windy weather the canopies provided adequate (just about) protection.
Time to get into my long awaited Siglo VI. These were originally destined for Xmas day but the weather was shit. Then again in January at my brothers 50th but in reality there was not the time to set aside to enjoy them. But now was an ideal time as ever and what a joy they were. I have to say everything about this cigar impressed, visual appeal, construction, cut, pre draw, lighting, smoking, which lasted about an hour and a half. Draw was perfect and the flavours spot on for my pallet right through to the end.
To cut a long story short, the company we found on the terrace was enjoyable, the whisky got more expensive by the glass, (all the wiskeys are on the shelf by price, so you can look at the price for that shelf and select whatever you want) as the night went on we tried an ever more expensive tipple.
Happy days.
