never tried it never will, seen smokers in the past dip the end in their beer, and then chew on it ! hate to see a wet cigar as they take it out of their mouth

You may have heard your local engineering friend and his partner bring up that wetting a cigar may or may not have actually brought up some good flavours in their JLPs. This is still a thriving tradition (as it seems :hmmmmm: ) from the old days where cigars required little humidification after being rolled. There's a ravashing debate where future and past conspiracy theorists bicker among themselves over WHY the late,great Churchill dipped his cigars in spirits. Would it be that he was hydrating the cigars? Would it be that he was flavouring them? That secret is now taken to his grave.
The tail end of the argument is that there SHOULDN'T be any flavour improvements on a well-kept cigar. JLPs (at least in this Don 's experience/humidors) are more liable to dry up and produce a "dry cured" taste that is normally unheard of in its other Cuban family.
Long story short, there should be no need or benefit to wetting a modern, well-kept cigar.

All of this started with a post from Min Ron Nee about 5 years ago. He does it with younger cigars, he said he likes what wetting the wrapper does for them. It's where Yiorgos got the idea to do that experiment, the one in the link that's going around.
I've tried it and I didn't ruin any cigars, I'm not sure if I got much of a flavour change. I'll try it again.
If you're worried about ruining a cigar, try it with a cheaper one, Partagas Short or a Ramon Allones Small Club Corona. The worst that can happen is you'll lose ?3-?5 and five minutes of your time.

This seems very strange...but I want try this trick I've got some budget JLP Cremas that I'm gonna try it on.
