Beginner looking for first humidor

First off I'm new here. Will start by saying hello and I hope everyone had a good xmas and new year.

After a little bit of advice. Relatively new to cigar smoking but ive decided I want to buy my first humidor. A lot of people have suggested a tupperdor. Is this a wise move? The people who advised me also told me to line the tupperdor with spanish cedar - Ive searched the internet and there doesn't seem to be anywhere to buy this in the UK ?

Ive also been looking at wooden humidors such as the adorini chianti.

I really don't know where to start :S

I was in a similar position a few years ago... I was given a 20size and quickly filled it...

I moved onto this unit which you can find on eBay, in fact, another member recently just bought one...



And that can hold quite a few...



And the I bought another desktop in Cuba before settling for a b&q box for boxes.

Key advice is generally go bigger and I would agree!

If you are planning on singles then a humi is a good move. Tupperdor for boxes... The boxes give you the cedar!

I would go at least 50-100 stick capacity.
They'll soon add up: single sticks, you might wanna invest in a box if 25 of yr favourite. You might wanna age a few sticks. Bigger is defo better in this instance.

My take on this would be:

As you're in the market, buy whichever humidor you really like the look of as long as it's of reputable make. Adorini are well thought of. Perhaps aim for a minimum 75 cigar capacity. Having your first humidor is a bit of a buzz.

Depending on whether you get deeper into cigars, and the hobby, there's plenty of time for plastic boxes and tubs.

This looks like a nice unit. Someone told me to stay away from any glass? Are these units easy to setup/maintain for a beginner?

highly recommended. I don't think You'll find the same, new, for that price anywhere else.
i started of with a 20ct. After maybe a year or less, I had to sell it to get this bigger one...

Setting up a humidor is a doddle. You just need the correct kit and a little patience.
It takes a couple of weeks to set one up from scratch.
As for glass, it is purely about looks. Some like it, some don't.

Glass I think is fine. If it's glass, where you can see the cigars, then advised to store them in a dark drawer/closet. Not sure, but I think I read that light, long term can affect cigars?

Thanks. Think I found it, german seller? Do you think i'd be better off saving the ?50 and going for this rather than going for the adorini chianti. They seem pretty similar.

Also another question I had. Which sites do you guys use for your smokes? Ive heard of Cgars. Any other good sites out there?
