Beginner looking for first humidor

How many packs do think I will need for that size humidor?

I wouldn't know but I was planning on placing one pack in each drawer. Not sure if this is a good idea ?

Withregards to seasoning,I just used distilled water and a cloth just to dampen the surfaces. Then left the damp cloth in there for a while and it was up to humidity in no time. Everyone goes mad if you say your wetting the wood because the wood will warp and split etc... But your hardly putting any water on the cloth, your not going to do any damage with such a small amount of water. And it's also a great way to clean out any dust left over from the manufacturing process. Just enough water to see the surface darken with moisture, no more.

Like Starkey I've only ever seasoned my humidor with the and this is the crucial word.. "damp" cloth method. Never had any problems but I think I will try the pouches next time.

Also another question I had. Which sites do you guys use for your smokes? Ive heard of Cgars. Any other good sites out there?

Sorry Scooby you can't discuss buying offshore here. You can legally buy from any European city that you visit, that you can discuss.

Even if its done legally? I was looking for some cigars that I was smoking last year on holiday. I can't find anywhere in the UK that stocks them

If you pay all duty and taxes that are due then you can... But almost certainly the cost of a ticket and can fare to your international shop of choice will be cheaper than doing that!!

Is there a way to work out how much it would be? Next holiday is booked for september, may just wait until then

Cheers for your reply Nubchugger I brought the 84% seasoning packs today and I asked the lady how many packs I will need ,she said I need one pack for every 25 cigars my humidor can hold so I worked out that it can hold about 100 cigars which would mean I would have to use four packs to season then another 4 packs of my choice for humidity. I went with the 69% packs
i just hope it all works out

put the 4 84s in for 14 days on the 15 day take out the 84s put in the 69s wait till your hygrometer comes down to 69% humidity
and put your stash in when you see the pouches start to stiffen either recharge or replace them job done.

Mate your right about the srew on the back off it.
it just don't turn far enough my one when you turn the srew it bounce all over the
place its total pants
