  • Your cigar of 2015

As we're approaching the end of the year, I wondered if we could recollect our personal cigar or cigar moment of the year? It could be about the particular cigar or something about 'that' time when you smoked a fat, skinny or dumpy one off? Willy waving is allowed [emoji6]

For me, one cigar that stands out was Tommy's COTM back in March[emoji106].

It was just what I wanted in a cigar as I caught up with my compadre[emoji125] during a FaceTime session. A rounded, smooth, rich, seemingly viscous mouthfeel to the smoke that coated the [emoji104] with [emoji126][emoji1202]. Medium bodied (I'd reckon) with a taste that, at least for me, epitomised what smoking cigars is about[emoji18].

I read back earlier and simply described it as "superb" Maybe the stars[emoji92] were aligned and the puro gods[emoji622] were smiling[emoji6]? I nearly forgot, it was a humble LGC Med 2.

Have you got any moments or cigars from the last year that spring to mind, and why?

For me, even though it was a 2014 LE, it was the Cohiba Robusto Supremos. Absolutely up there with the best cigars I've ever had...

The format. I like big cigars as I think you all know. Even I thought a 58 ring gauge was pushing it a bit! I love the way the cigar builds. If you've seen Ajay's YouTube review, I found his experience matched my own. It's a cigar of two halves. A typical bean-like Cohiba profile, but as soon as you hit the second third it's like a bomb going off! The power and intensity of flavour is immense! It gave me a real nicotine hit that's for sure. I have one in the humi for Xmas day. I can't wait!

As for the best cigar I've ever had, for me, it's a Cohiba Sublimes LE 2004. hands down the best cigar I've ever smoked.

Parti Lusi for me, my first ever and it set a benchmark for what I want from cigars.

If you could condense the same flavour into shorter smokes I doubt I'd smoke anything else, utter perfection.

I've never had one BS, but if you come across your shorter version, fancy a box split?

Mine was relatively humble in comparison. A Bolivar (BBF) from I belive 08. This cigar was gifted to me by PJ after we did a little work clearing a space for his cabin.Sat on on his patio with both our partners sipping drinks and chatting the cigar behaved absolutely perfectly. smooth yet flavourful with so much sweetness I had to change my drink pairing as the rum I started with was to sweet when combined.

I've limited experience and so I'll have to go with the Magnum 46 gifted to me by [MENTION=13408570]groundhog[/MENTION] The cigar itself was a sublime experience, mellow, lots of flavour, and I could have easily continued smoking it for another hour on top of what it lasted. Add to the fact I was in a comfortable lounge in central London catching up with an old friend I hadn't seen for a few months and the occasion was perfect.
