Evening all,
I was given a cigar by a work colleague today, that one of his family members had bought back from a recent holiday in Cuba..
Without being rude, I could tell straight away that it was fake! ( especially as I had a genuine one to smoke last night! )
Onto the pics..

To the untrained eye it looks very convincing. However, if you look closely at the band, you will notice the imperfections..
It felt very well filled but, on a cold draw, it was very loose!
There was no aroma at all from the cigar either.
I cut it in half to show the standard of the filling & leaves etc.
In the interests of research I thought I would smoke the remaining half
It lit quite quickly, a lot quicker than normal. It tasted very bitter & harsh, so much so, that I binned it after 3 draws. The harshness though, lasted for a while after!
It's from my time on here that I have learned about this kind of thing. I can't thank the forum members enough for my education & hopefully I can pass that onto the newer lads that have joined.
For someone with an interest in cigars, something like this could put them off! Due to the harshness & very poor taste. However a cheap box of cigars may seem while on holiday, Please don't be tempted!
Always buy from a reputable source, if in Cuba a LCDH store.
