Simple one banded Havana's, readily available at every good tobacconist: Hoyo Epi No2, ERDM CS, Boli FF, RA Gigantes, ERDM DT, Monte No2 & PLPC. Hope that helps?

Hey Simone de Bolivar! I can top that.
Remember when the ERdM CS and Hoyo epicure2s came without bands?
All those cabs of cigars that had no bands were almost always better. Modest, tasteful, and most of the time came in mouthwatering 50 cabs! Punch SS No.2, No. 1, Ramon Allones Coronas, ERdM CS, etc etc etc!!
Of course I remember them well & agree with you there were better quality smokes, that's why they aged so well. Still a couple of Epi & No1 & 2's unbanded; CS long gone. Here's some pics of No1sx2 & No2'sx3, some are so old you'll note I was smoking inside the cafe!
The best smoke you'll get is the one you have now, because you can't get any of the previous ones back.
But from memory, my PSdC1's aren't bad.
spot on!
Thinking about it, ruling out some occassional howlers, i've really enjoyed every stick i've ever had and its tough to pic a winner.... I remember my first cohiba robusto and it set the tone for loving that size and style smoke.... Not the best smoke i've had but poss the most influential! After that its probably a straight shoot out between D4, P2 and epi 2.... And not sure i can split the epi 2 and p2!
"Dear heart, you're talking to a man- a real man- who drinks straight Tequilla, with lime and salt on the rim, and smokes cigars" (J Zavala)
I also really like LGC Med 4, partagas SDC No1 and Fundies. Fatter favourites include RA Estupendos, RA Super Allones and RA Specially Selected 2008 Belux regional. Bolivar 109 and the skinny German regional from the same year are both splendid too. So many great smokes.
I think there's something good to be found in most cigars and some of my favourites are the cheapest such as montecarlos and LGC Med 4.
