• Another mould question!

Sorry for starting another thread but thought I'd get seen and more responses and opinion this way.

Bit of context: I used my phone torch earlier on to select a stick from my humi and noticed tiny, almost invisible little white hairs on nearly all sticks. Without the bright torchlight they're hard to spot - certainly never noticed them under 'normal' lighting.

I doubt it's plume on all sticks. Optimistically I've read elsewhere that tobacco leaves have naturally occurring minuscule hairs

I've tried to catch them on these pics by zooming in and then screenshotting.

Are my cigars doomed?

I have these on some of my cigars and I've found they brush off and smoke fine bud

Fantastic pics Fuzzy wuzzy leaf fibres in the main, but the teeny white specks could be the beginnings of something. I'm no expert and would not want to worry you though. Brush the buggers down if it's annoying you, or keep and eye on it if you don't.

tommy_tucka cj121 Cheers, chaps. It does seem to brush off easily. I'll monitor and if it persist I'll just have to smoke them all and restock the humi

Horsebox - very similar to mine although less pronounced... Mine also brushed off with a rub of the finger...

Yep, it was only because of the bright torchlight I noticed it and having read your thread it got me worrying! Fortunately(?) they're all singles but annoying and mildly concerning if it is mould.

I wouldn't worry about it

In general mould really isn't something to worry about (unless its on the foot), just brush off and smoke

Invest in a good quality small, stiffish paint brush and use that for brushing down cigars, and do it 'away' from your humis, preferably outside.

The thread/hairs/bits might be the start of mould but might also be wood dust from the box.
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

Yep nothing to worry about, just tobacco leaves. The white is most likely box dust, just keep an eye on them it it helps you sleep at night
