  • Rotating your cigars

Is there a specific amount of time before you rotate or just when you want, within reason.

I spend more time watching my cigars, making sure the humidity is right, the temp is right, no beetles etc.

So just being curious once again. Sorry.

I don't know if I am doing right or wrong, but I check my Boveda packs every couple of weeks.
The cigars get a move around at that point.

I think this is one of the things were people worry more than they need - when you see full boxes of 30 year old cigars do you think someone has been rotating them regularly, or cigars in storage at H&F or one of the stores are regularly rotated in their boxes?

I have never consciously rotated my cigar, but if it necessary I think they get enough through general movement when you go to your humidor to pick one out

I may of course be wrong and someone will be along to correct me in a bit on all counts, but I've never felt my cigar smoke particularly badly

I have never given it a thought. I would speculate one is more likely to damage sticks with a regular shuffle than any advantage gained.

I don't consciously rotate, but I'm sure when I rummage around looking for smomething to smoke they get moved about. Although the boxes sleeping in my scoobadour don't get looked at very often at all, unless I decide to take some out and put them in the current smokes humadour.

I think I have, but don't. They don't turn themselves in their original boxes do they?

I ignore my cigars until it's BOVEDA swap time

                  Rotating your cigars

I leave the boxed ones be. Until recently my storage solution was a large boveda in every box and every box in a zip lock bag, the boxes needed a fresh boveda every couple of months or so. I enjoy sorting through the singles in the Humidors & whilst it's not deliberate rotation they get a shuffle occasionally.

Such a non problem ... No rotation here ... I don't think anyone with more than a few boxes rotates anything .

Put a fan in your large cabinent humi's & the air will circulate without the need to rotate boxes.

In my opinion constantly moving and rotating cigars could cause cracking or splitting the cigars if you're not careful while moving them.

I try not to move them, the number of split feet from shifting them around, dropping them isn't worth it.

What y'all need is the ACME Cigar Rotatorator (pat pending)

The recently developed computer controlled facility to rotate or turn singles, loose fivers, and any regular sized Cuban cigar box with both ease and care in a relatively humid environment. What about part empty boxes then? Not a problem, due to a special thing in it. [emoji6]

Think it's to do with obsession sometimes especialy newbees just starting out, buying their first humidor then slowly building
                              their collection.
