  • The Cubans are coming...!!!

Worry not my UKIP voting friends, this is not about immigration but about the marketing machine in the US, protecting NC cigars from the new competition.

    I came across this video.

Enjoy the videos and music that you love, upload original content and share it all with friends, family and the world on YouTube.

I stopped watching his videos when he reviewed a cuban cigar and didn't notice that it was a fake. But this blind tasting he is doing here... It seems in line with that blog by the Cigar Authority guy bashing CCs. There is a theme building up... and its trying to tell us that CC suck...

His review themselves set the standard for video cigar reviews imo, very professional and he clearly puts a lot of money and time into it and for that he should be praised. However I don't agree with him bashing CC as they are clearer better and smoother, again imo. I think the American tastes have grown to become more based around NC as obvs they can't get CC, still I don't think he should down-talk CC; just my ten pence worth

For US marketeers, CCs will be the nation's new folk Devils.

              The Cubans are coming...!!!

We should be funding these types of videos, the more videos there are slating CCs the less Americans there will be who buy them!

In fact I might go and film some later tonight, I'll start with saying how terrible the BBF is I think...

But in all seriousness I think many people will see this for what it is and take it with a pinch of salt.

I've tried many NC's over the years and have been disappointed with about 90% of them, just my taste mind, others may be finding something I'm missing!

None of the Americans I met on holiday were even interested in Cubans Sean

Honestly, based on my experiences in Afghanistan I have no doubt the NCs have nothing to fear once American cigar smokers have had their had their fill of the "forbidden fruit." In Afghanistan, we have free access to Cuban Cigars at an Italian store. I'd venture to guess we have one of the largest cigar clubs around, with a weekly 100+ person herf . The problem is most Americans will pass on a Partagas or Montecristo because they want that "blast of pepper" from NCs which I detest (I'm an American too and hate those pepper bombs). I don't know if it's the culture or because most of our cigar smokers are just accustomed to NCs, but I honestly do believe NCs will be fine in the long run.....

Of course they will be fine in the long run, but they will face some tough competition and they will sell less than before for sure...

It totally depends on the price point when CC's eventually get legally to the US as to whether or not the majority of cigar smokers in the States go for them. There's no way they'll pay the ridiculous prices we do over here and I've said it before and I'll say it again, the guys in the US that want to smoke CC's already have them.

I have heard that some reports suggest the US is already the largest consumer of Cuban cigars in the world.

But wether thats true or not, I personally think that advetising is king in the US and thats where the NC's have a head up on CC's. I just seriously hope that CC's dont try and follow the tacky Americanized branding trends that some British Beer's are falling foul of.

Im sick of stupid hipster names and gimmick branding.

And reading some of the things US BOTL say about them, I would qualify that statement and say. The US is undoubtedly the largest consumer of fake Cuban cigars in the World.
