Again I have not much experience in comparison to others however if you don't want to fiddle around with salt water calibration then I would suggest just sticking the cigars in your seasoned humidor along with the Boveda packs and let them do the work, they'll keep it at whatever humidity you chose so you don't really need to worry about calibrating it too much. I rarely check my hygrometer as I use Boveda packs but every time I do it reads 67-69% which is bang on what I choose for my Boveda's
In regards to the seasoning, I seasoned my humidor using de-ionised water rather than distilled water and it still works for me. I didn't cover the whole humidor liberally but I gave the sides about 4 coats of lightly brushed water

As long as it was done sparingly no harm done, how did we season our humidors before the bovedas came on the market.

Early learning for sure That chart I posted was well debunked. Your illustration got me reading around the subject again, as it seems your diagram suggests a higher temp=higher RH, but let's not 'jack the thread

Thought you might appreciate an update. I've tested my hygrometer with a 69% Boveda pack in a ziplock bag for 24 hours. Every time I read it, I got 69%.
Also, the Calibre 4 I've got has a max/min button which shows a max of 69% and a min of 68%.

Looks like the factory calibration was pretty good!

the calibre hygro's include some amusing instructions on what to do if anyone suggests the salt test for your calibre hygro!! I have a III and its rock steady.
