  • Cigar repair

Just wanted to share how I have repaired, damaged cigars with loose wrapper as I'm sure we all have experienced that at times, where as your holding the Cigar like a flute, just to try and get a puff from it,I'm not saying its the correct way,but that it works for me and I've had brilliant results and still have cigars that are still holding after 5 months..firstly I get some pectin used for jam making and add a little of the pectin to a milk lid then add a small drop of distilled water while giving it a good stir with a tooth pick until it reaches to a medium consistent,I then using another tooth pick carefully release the Cigar wrapper to where it damaged and then using the tooth pick used for stiring the pectin,I rub a small amount to the underside of the damaged wrapper, while then shape it back together with my thumb, leave it for a few mins and put back into humidor,[emoji3] Cigar like new and can smoke it without playing a flute...
Like I said might not be everyone's way but works good for me.[emoji106]

I think using pectin is a very good idea.

Possibily, I never said it was the most cost effective

To be fair it will probably last a couple years and repair dosens of cigars if needed.

Went down the pectin and various 'gel' route years ago in quest of an alternative to the traditional torcedore glue. I've been using cake glue for about three years and IMO/E it's the dog's, hands down

I got some cigar glue thrown in when I bought some HF beads and that and a couple of pieces of wrapper from an RYJ I had smoked most of, repaired an Anejados that had a fair sized hole in it when I received it very nicely.
Handy to know cake glue works though.

An excellent suggestion Wigan, without repair this one wouldn't have smoked I'm afraid. It was so bad the vendor didn't even want it back. Just told me to keep it and sent a replacement. Apr?s repair, it smoked beautifully

You'd be amazed when it comes to cigars chief, I've had stuff totally split up one side and start to unfold looking like a butterfly wing and STILL carry on smoking. Silk cut they aint

Haha no doubt your right ! My first shot at a repair, thought it was worth a try as I was really looking forward to smoking it after ordering it and was really disappointed when it arrived looking like it had been in a knife fight !
