@Matt Wall this is the threat I was referring to earlier I forgot Jeremy ruined it by talking nonsense at the end though

Let's do a quick test if you guys don't mind? What do you think these cigars should be in your head, based on the cigar itself. Just a single rating will do:
HDM Le Hoyo Des Dieux
Cohiba Robusto
Padron Serie 1926 No. 2 Maduro
Bolivar Belicoso Finos
Vegas Robaina Unicos
Party SD4
Monte Petit Edmundo
Saint Luis Rey Regios
I'll get the CA official ratings up and we'll see if I've been chatting crap for the last 30 minutes or if actually CA is wrong haha (I hope it's the latter...)
Just a single rating out of 100 for each cigar is fine, if you haven't smoked it just put a ? instead of the rating.
Cheers,
Matt

Oh and thanks for the thread link Sheppsea (again don't know anyone's name so I have to call everyone by there account name, haha). I think that Simon Bolivar has got the best way of reviewing cigars but we'll see what happens if everyone can have a quick go at my ratings test

A mate of mine has established a -10 - +10 rating scale. I would use it if I haven't already been accustomed to the 100pt rating scale.
I've given out my fair share of 5s (RyJ Double Corona LE2000), 10s (Guantanamera Minutos), 20s (Ashtons, Gurkhas), etc. I feel regular production Cuban Cigars end up on the 50s-70s with a few of my favourites hovering around 80. 90s are truly spectacular cigars in my opinion.
regardless, I think the average reviewer has just bell-curved the numbers so high up, they've skewed the results. Either that, or they continue to smoke outstanding cigars over and over again.Originally posted by ValeTudoGuyMarc's a Fat Molly

Really? I find that surprising (though not saying your wrong). Almost every 100 point system I see (not specifically cigars) tends to be based on the original Robert Parker system.Licky Licky before Sticky Sticky. - Puff Scotty 22/03/14

HDM Le Hoyo Des Dieux - Can have a very unique overly strong cedar taste, a 1998 blew my palette apart.
Cohiba Robusto - What age? A well kept older one will blow your socks off... In a good way.
Padron Serie 1926 No. 2 Maduro - Dunno, don't really care.
Bolivar Belicoso Finos - Can be excellent and usually are pretty excellent.
Vegas Robaina Unicos - Only had one and it was decent.
Party SD4 - Either lovely or salty dogs.... Literally can have a salty taste IME.
Monte Petit Edmundo - Lovely, but I would pick a No.2 up in any circumstance that time wasn't an issue.
Saint Luis Rey Regios - Decent.Licky Licky before Sticky Sticky. - Puff Scotty 22/03/14

HDM Le Hoyo Des Dieux - 80.... Unless it's suffering from the crazy wood taste then 0
Cohiba Robusto - a good older one 95 otherwise 82
Padron Serie 1926 No. 2 Maduro - xx
Bolivar Belicoso Finos - 90+
Vegas Robaina Unicos - 84
Party SD4 - 85...... Or 50 for a salty one
Monte Petit Edmundo - 86
Saint Luis Rey Regios - 84
90 is quite a plaudit in my book, over 80 is good smoking. Under 80 I probably wouldn't Rush to revisit. Below 70 I may or may not ditch it depending on mood.
Bear in mind my 100 is evidently different though.Licky Licky before Sticky Sticky. - Puff Scotty 22/03/14

HDM Le Hoyo Des Dieux - 70
Cohiba Robusto - 85
Padron Serie 1926 No. 2 Maduro - ?
Bolivar Belicoso Finos - 90
Vegas Robaina Unicos - ? (but I'm not a big fan of VR in general)
Party SD4 - 85 (when good, but I have also had a PSD4s that wouldn't get 50)
Monte Petit Edmundo - 85
Saint Luis Rey Regios - 65
90+ is outstanding, 80-90 is excellent and box worthy, 70-80 is very good, 60-70 is somewhere between average and good, 50-60 is a bit meh and below 50 is poor
