Cellophane yes or no?

I have always removed from the cellophane for the same reason I leave them in the tubes... (I know different discussion)

Plastic hasn't been around as long as cigars or wooden humidors...

Cellophane is NOT plastic. There's a reason it's widely used for food packaging?

Fraaaaaaaank. We've been over this before... Cellophane is a type of polymer and hence is scientifically and chemically a "plastic." It's just plant based.

The reason why it's used for food packaging is because it provides a more airtight membrane (water tight when layered with a thin membrane of nitrocellulose) to keep the aromatics, oils, greases, etc and everything locked in. Nothing to do with the creation or definition

It is not a regular oil based plastic but is one of the oldest bioplastics ever discovered.
