This needs more looking into but reckon it's the way to go for long term storage. Anyone else into this?

Looks like it is working a treat, are you going to show the machine and how you did it?

Some of the very serious guys use this method to slow the ageing of cigars. The idea is that this is supposed to allow you to smoke them at their peak of ageing (8 years or whatever) after 30, 40 or 50 years. A lot of cigars are lovely at old age but many seem to agree that they pass their best at 8 to 10 years. If the value is in smoking something that can no longer be bought then it makes sense.

But you can't open the box & smell them or admire them or show them off I can see the advantage but how long would you leave then without checking? I would suggest opening annually at least just to check if still perfectly humidified.

I totally agree, as when I'm not smokin' 'em but am checking 'em out humidity/temperature/general condition-wise, you can't beat shoving your nostrils into the humi and breathing in deeply to enjoy that gorgeous cold aroma!

I had similar thoughts as you have no way to tell if they're improving or even past their best unless smoking one/some at regular intervals, as a comparison, along the way.

I wonder if it would inhibit the natural aging of the cigar, I used to grow "herbs" and I'd cram them into storage jars with no air and tuck them away somewhere dark and they'd be in the same fresh state opened two years later , I think vacuum packing would have the same result
