What do you love about smoking cigars?

It's a very relaxing form of pass time for me. I know smoking a cigar will always help me relax through whatever issues (if any) I may be going through

I have been considering how to answer this question without writing an essay so to put it briefly. first & foremost the taste (don't think anyone else mentioned that?). Secondly relaxation. Thirdly the shared love of cigars through this forum & others, especially getting together in person, it's always worth the effort!

I mentioned the flavours, as trying to distinguish them all is something I really enjoy, as well as loving the actual base tobacco taste.

I can't disagree with anything that's already been written - it all plays a part for me. I love that in such a hectic world lighting up a cigar forces an hour or so of relaxation, contemplation, and reflection. I also love the rituals that go with keeping and smoking cigars, along with an interest in the history and culture. Then there's the flavour, of course, as Simon and Seegarnub have mentioned - I love the mystery and the challenge of eeking out the different nuances and really enjoying the depth and complexity of a natural and handmade product.

Finally, there's the camaraderie amongst the cigar smoking fraternity. I've met some wonderful BOTLs over the years, each and every one an interesting and generous person. Old friends who you can always pick up a conversation with even if you haven't seen each other for a year or more.

You are such a gent Simon. Without the joint enjoyment I get from having people in my life that share my enjoyment in cigars the enjoyment would be, well less enjoyable.

Simon when is the next Humordor night ..Fox's new sampling room should be opening soon, early August I believe.
