  • What do you love about smoking cigars?

There are many things I enjoy about smoking a cigar but the one thing I really appreciate is that my daily routine comes to a dead halt; I'll take the time out to smoke a cigar, hopefully enjoying it and again, hopefully, with minimal interruption. The down side to that is that if I know I don't have the time or I will get interrupted then I won't light one up.

For me it's taking a back seat on every day life, and mulling over it (life)…
      Past, present, future.
I often find myself reminissing lost friends/family.
Oh… and enjoying the cigar leaf and the flavours/experience it offers

        me time in my bubble.

add to than the wider sense of belonging to a group of people who enjoy a specific 'thing', despite it not necessarily being a 'team' thing!

I am epicurean at heart... it appeals to all of those aspects, as well as the admiration for a handmade thing designed for enjoyment.

it's an hour where you can just relax and let the world pass you by, a nice drink and an Havana heaven

The rich, fullness of smoke; the sociability of the experience; the room note is great (not that I smoke indoors, but that is great). The tactility of grappling with a phat one and the ritual of prepping for lighting springs to mind also. Smoking time is limited and usually social with a good friend, so I rarely get that 'me time' which is okay.

I find it a meditative experience , I used to smoke lots of grass and to my surprise I find cigar smoking very similar . It's the perfect way to switch off from the trials and tribulations of life and contemplate the world around you .

I find its one of the only ways to get me time, although I do wish I could smoke with others occasionally, for me it's purely a solitary pursuit

That's it in a nutshell - though probably less grass in my case!

Yep, that used to be me until the children arrived Now, it's FaceTime, a cheeky one up the allotment or long-enough solo car journeys.

This is pretty much me, with the exception of the alone time, as more then half the times I smoke a cigar my wife smokes one with me.

It's the whole relaxing ritual that goes with smoking such a wonderfully handmade object, along with; the aroma, the flavours, the history, the culture and how cigars seem to be a common ground that bring together all different types of people from all walks of life.

Everything that comes with smoking cigars, the humidor the cigars inside the aroma you get when opening the lid to take a cigar out etc
then last but not least the enjoyment one gets of tasting different cigars.

I disagree with no one here. The switch off and also the social side of it is what I love, but also the collecting and sharing. The generosity of BOTLs is amazing.
