• The V Cutter yes or no

I recently tried a cigar with a v cutter and loved the smoke this cut gave .
whats every body's thoughts on this type of cutter ?.. Before i decide to go out and
purchase one for myself

If you're going to buy one get a good one like the Colibri. If it has a good blade it can be useful if you have a cigar with a poor cap where the standard guillotine might take the whole cap off.

I like a V cut but use it less than my punch and guillotine, but that is more out of habit than anything else

Its nice as something different every now and then

Have been using the Xicar V cutter for a while now and really like it. Gives a good sharp cut every time and I really enjoy the smoke I get using it. I was finding the guillotine wasn't working so well for me sometimes but the v cut works every time, have used a double v cut on a slightly tighter rolled stick and this has worked nicely too.

The second cigar I ever had I bought from a shop to smoke on the street while on holiday and they gave it a V cut (I didn't own any cigars or cutters at the time). I didn't like it but I think purely because they'd cut it too deep or made the cut too large if that makes sense, leaving a gap so when I was taking a draw the air was escaping. I might give a V cut another go......

Hey bud, have you tried a punch cut? And if so, did you find it was better than the punch cut?
Cheers

I often watch the videos from Sautter cigars, I find them great and I really like his desk top cutter, its looks great and has a satisfying sound!

I must say I have used all, bar a punch cut. I like them all so far. All depends on the cutter quality and of course the quality of the cigar cap and its ring gauge

I prefer using V cutters on my cigars over a guillotine. I don't find I am very accurate with a Guillotine and I end up destroying the cap.

I am going to have a look into this V-cutter as I have currently got a knock off Cohiba branded one. Does the job but want a better one. PeeJay where did you get yours from? I can only see them from US...
