  • Tube or no Tube?

Hi gents. Just in the process of seasoning my first humidor and was wondering if I should take my Romeo & Juliets out their tunes when they go in the humidor or leave them in? Or just take the cap off??

    thanks

Now you have started it, I would leave as they are, but you will get a load of different opinions, habanos say to remove from tubes.

haha. Although very new to the cigar world I have noticed that there are very split opinions on everything.

Also.... If I do take them out the tube do I leave them in the cedar wrap?

As you are still seasoning your humidor, I would leave them in the tubes. Take them out once it's done.

As this seems like early cigar smoking days for i'd recommend you go half n half on a few. Take a few out of the tubes, whip the caps off a few and leave the rest as they are. Then smoke through your test group. See if you can spot a difference. If one or other tastes better to you, you have your answer.Do finish your seasoning before you do though for best results.

i buy mostly single sticks and the occassional box plus tubos when there isnt a non tubos version in stock. I'm happy enough without the tubes in general... But have a couple of RyJ short church's in tubes, which i have left as they are as i chucked them into the humi and forgot them, rather than making a deliberate choice!

                  enjoy!

I bought tube singles at the start just to try and took them out of the tubes. Now buy for long term storage and the whole point is they stay in the tubes

That's some great advice. Make it about you and your tastes. I like tubes but for whatever reason very rarely buy.
