  • Cheap digital hygrometers

Well after concluding that cheap analogue hygrometers are all a pile of shite.. I thought Id try the digital ones off ebay. Im using Bovedas all the time now so dont necessarily need one but got a couple, more out of curiosity really. They were about ?2 each, withfree postage from China! Got 2 different ones to see how they differ.

Been calibrating them with the salt test and am pleasantly surprised that both are reading the same RH with a .1 difference in temperature.

So the reading of 79 would indicate that they are both +4 units above actual RH.. Which will be 75rh inside the container. Was fairly impressed with that really.

I tried few cheap and they have non linear difference - not 4 degree all time so in my opinion they are almost useless for accurate measure. I compared them with Xikar and with professional hygrometer.
But I am not sure about manufacturer, they are from Dx.com

Sound like a couple of goers there then Let us know how you go over time ay. Might be worth salt testing again after a short period to see if they give the same readings.

Yeah I'll give them a go and see how they perform with the Bovedas in the box
