Question, how long does I cigar beetle egg last for? Are aged cigars safe? eg friend gives you a few aged cigars, 5-10 years old, you put them straight in your humidor, are any eggs able to hatch out?

Now considering quarantining any bombs I receive in future. Most people on here who have mentioned this issue have got it direct from cuba.
Do we find out the life cycle time and make a suggestion to not bomb within x amount of days of receiving a bomb to avoid pandemic?

They're susceptible to beetles at any age. If the cigars have beetles it should be easy to tell. Tap them and see if any beetle poo falls out. Are there any holes in the wrappers etc. Are you just talking about cigars from friends or buying from abroad too? If you get a Bomb the chances are they're fine otherwise the bomber is infested.

Just from bombs really, boxes purchased from the EU I'm not that worried about as they have probably been frozen. its just the aged cigars that you know nothing about.

They could easily become aged in the correct conditions and still have eggs inside?
