Nightmare buddy. Nothing worse than being patient waiting for some nice sticks to arrive, then one of them turning out like this.

To add insult to injury, if this was caused by 'humidity abuse' as previously mentioned by someone else, you'd be worried about the other sticks. Just because the wrappers on the other sticks don't look as bad as this, doesn't mean they haven't been subjected to the same conditions as the damaged one. I would definitely email the vendor with that picture attached.

When does patience ever apply to waiting for a cigar delivery?

I'm an impatient person in general and I much prefer buying things somewhere local to buying online for this reason. However, I order my sticks online because it's cheaper and there's a much better selection. Even though they may not be smoked as soon as they're delivered, I still find myself being impatient waiting for them to arrive once I've ordered them.

If they were packed as you described, they were probably sent in that condition, you won't lose anything be emailing them!

Seriously though, with the attention gone into the packing, it might be a genuine, albeit significant, oversight: a bit of a grab and pack perhaps?

Makes a good argument for cellophane though doesn't it

I've emailed the shop. I'll drop em a call Monday too. IMO, it's either a mistake (likely) or a piss take. It's so obviously busted up its hard to imagine it wasn't noted. I'll let you guys know how things go and thanks for letting me vent!

Why would they want that cigar back if you send them a photo
still think it wasen't damaged in the post the way you said it was packed.

So, bottom line, phoned them up this morn, knew who I was immediatly (so my email had worked) and got a no hassle "we'll send you another, feel free to smoke that one." So all is cool. Got the impression it was a genuine mistake since there was no attempt to fob me off.
