So thinking about buying up some small smokes, JC size for aging. 5 boxes of 25. Split them up so each box contains 5 of each. Each winter take a box out. Figure I am more likely to stick to just that box if the others are put away.
So, wrap each 5 in greaseproof paper within the boxes or is that overkill?

Sorry Wigan, newbie problems, JC size? I like the idea though would greaseproof be enough to seperate them? As in would you seal them up as little parcels or just with strips to keep separated?

Junior Corona, roughly 4 to 5 inch and about 42RG, depends on brand. Sure someone will come along in a mo and shoot me far being so vague

Completely wrap like little parcels. Maybe tin foil would be better

Just got that as I read this!

I don't know why, but greaseproof paper seems better... gut feeling I suppose. Maybe its like opening little presents, but seems more inert and less harsh to the cigars.

Yeah true, actually theres a few more i've found that have partial foil wrapping (for aesthetics or for function, I don't know), however historically it was used as per http://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/info-packaging.aspx

I would be careful with the wrapping of foil not to create any sharp edges that may pierce the wrapper. I think maybe i've created too much of an issue, if they're laid down in a box, split from each other and untouched. I think you're looking at a special selection of cigars for years to come! I myself will try the cedar wrapped klip lock tubs with cedar wrapping to see if that works.

What JCs you thinking of? All CC?

Of course it would be even easier if you could find them in 5x5 packs
