  • Smoking in the Car?

    Morning all,

Interested to know how many of you smoke cigars in the car?

My dad used to have a Monte 4 everyday on his drive back from work. I asked him whether he really enjoyed those smokes, or was it just a way of passing time. He said there was nothing better than unwinding with his favourite cigar for an hour before getting home to deal with 4 kids!

I have done on occasion, but I used to have a much longer commute. I can't say I enjoyed it very much, it felt like I was missing out on part of the ritual.

Only done it a couple of times, parked up in a sunny/picturesque location, window down, and a smoke. I don't like to smoke and drive or smoke and walk, too much like smoking cigarettes for me.

Same here, I smoked one whilst walking for the first time on Saturday and it didn't feel right at all. Got some funny looks too but that could just be me of course.

Never smoked a cigar in the car and not normally while walking either, the exception being if I have been out for lunch and the restaurant have nice gardens to stroll around at a sedate pace.

Smoke in my car quite a lot, I drive a lot, 2-4 hours a day.
I suppose it's just another one of those things that once you've got the nack of it you enjoy it, smoking a pipe whilst driving though, quite a lot harder haha

I know my dad did that for a while too.

Until he turned to look out the window and knocked the pipe out of his mouth. My mum destroyed him for ruining that shirt!

I often have either a cigar or a pipe when I have a long drive. I won't smoke my best cigars as I prefer a proper drink with them but a middle of the road kind of smoke with a coffee whist sat on a long road is a real pleasure.

I did it a few times over the past winters, purely coz I had no where else indoors to smoke (would smoke in it, parked up). I don't do it now as I have my own garage. But used to, with the windows down a bit, but used to take a week or two for the smell to go. Mrs would always make a comment about the smell on a weekend

I would imagine that's when leather upholstery is preferable

Full leather bud. But still the smell would take a while to go. Tried all the suggested methods to remove the smell: cut apples etc, windows slightly open, etc etc. Still would take a good couple weeks to go

Wouldnt dream of it because of smells, potential for burning a hole in the upholstery etc

IMO a cigar should be enjoyed with 100% attention on enjoying that cigar.

I dont think a cigar is ever quite as good while walking.

                              Classic cigars or classics cars?[emoji3]

Judging by the look of your dashboards you must mean the cars.. What are they?
