Cellophane wrapper - remove or not

Received an order this week which included a couple of Dunhill (aged range) cigars which sre wrapped in cellophane.

Am I correct in thinking that I should should remove this before if hits the humi?

My my thinking being that if it's in a sealed wrapper it won't benefit from the humidor.

So, wrap or unwrap.

Yes with an "if." No with a "but."

Honestly, unless you're ageing them for decades upon decades, don't even worry yourself with trivial things like this. I just leave them on cus I'm lazier that way. Cellulose and nitrocellulose (what cello wrap is made of) is completely natural, non-toxic, and abundant. It won't damage your cigars in the slightest. There is controversy whether they actually do good, though.
But they don't do bad!

I struggle to see how they contradict one another... If he wants to leave them on, he can leave them on, or he can take them off. It's up to him but it will make no difference to the cigars.

I find cigars that are straight out the wrapper are a little bit dry, so I give them chance to soak up some of that humidity. But as mentioned before, personal preference.

Out of sheer curiosity, how high is the humidity in your x-dor? I feel like if I placed them in my 63% humidor, it would make no difference. But If I just tossed them in my 69%, it definitely would "soak up some of that humidity", as you say.
I guess it would also differ between the cigars. If they're 15YO Cuban Belvederes vs 1 week old Liga Privadas

They taught us in school that cellophane is porous, so I think the dryness you experience may be a function of your humidor and not the cello....but science could be wrong.

They taught you correctly. But a protective layer of NITROCELLULOUS (guncotton) is applied over cellophane to make it water resistant.

My humidor stays around 69-70%.

Buy cigar from someone / somewhere that's in cellophane.

Transported in cellophane.

Stored in humidor in cellophane.

It's all got to have an effect on the cigar humidity.

So I open it up, let it breath for a while and soak up some of that lovely humidity and fragrance of my humidor.

Well I binned the cellophane this morning and are letting them rest in the humi
Along with my other sticks.
