  • Cigars for a special occasion?

Me and the wife have been discussing trying for a baby, so she said ?when I have a baby you should get yourself a nice single?, so I said ?great?, then she said ?I don?t want you spending any more that ?150 on a single?.

So what is out there for that sort of money?

    Thanks.

Haha! Are you sure she didn't say "box"` and you only HEARD "single?" Either way, you've certainly got her trained!

The first thing that comes to mind in that price range is a 2004 Cohiba EL Sublime, but no doubt others like snrs. stevietheboy and monkeytheboy will have other fine suggestions.

Nowhere near that price but when me and my Mrs went looking for a celebration cigar we ended up getting a Cohiba 1966 but that was more like ?35.

As I am still very new to smoking cigars I have yet to try a Cohiba, they are way up there on my list!

Well, when you do go for the Cohiba, try to make it one with some age on it - 5 plus years would do fine. I have found they don't do well with only a few years on 'em, but are well worth the wait...if you can!

Wow 150 on a cigar, I think it would be a bit wasted on me a bit like wine I'll happily pay ?15 for a bottle of wine if it was a special dinner but over that I'd rather have three or four decent than one so called exceptional , same with cigars if you look on this site and say a behike or siglo VI are the benchmark other cigars try and aspire to, you could spend your 150 on three/ four or even five extremely good cigars .

How about a really nice ?30 cigar and ?120 On a beautiful Dunhill lighter to have for the rest of your life as a keepsake?

This. Even at EMS prices I'm not sure of the merit of spending more than ?30 on a single stick - or maybe I'm just not refined enough

Personally I'd snap up what RobustoClubHavana is offering, assuming you have PM's, naturally!

JJ Fox had some Lusitanias for over a hundred quid each if you're throwing money away

With a budget of ?150 maybe purchase a few high end sticks, put them away, and then have one every year on your child's birthday

Big expensive old Partagas in this case. They had a cab at ?110 each but I can't remember the age.
