Here comes another stupid question but where do I cut the cigar? I'm under the assumption it's where the cap starts to level out into the shaft of the cigar? Or is it just before? Just after?

IMO as little as possible to leave you with a good draw. If your cigar is left with no taper after you cut them I believe you have cut too much.Licky Licky before Sticky Sticky. - Puff Scotty 22/03/14

A little off the tip, por favor!

Ahem...I've noticed that a lot of yanks seem to prefer to cut tapered-tipped sticks at an angle to give more surface area without cutting to much of the cap. Usually a 30 to 40% angle seems to work.
But as the "ever present" se?or Peesinhisjays eluded, use a punch whenever possible.

Got told the following and will see what you guys think of it.
Place the cutter flat on the table. Stand the cigar inside your cutter and cut that way. Should give the perfect amount of cut. Opinions?'Cigars are a hobby, cigarettes an addiction'

With my Xikar and a Robusto that gives an almost perfect cut every time. Not little sticks though.Licky Licky before Sticky Sticky. - Puff Scotty 22/03/14
