More when ordering from a vendor and you cant inspect the cigars yourself. You have 2 options in this scenario, ask them to pick a box for you (depends if you trust there intergity and judgement) or look through there list of codes and pick one yourself
This includes the one where the lovely Christmas presents are being delivered from. Twice I have asked for it, twice I have received in, in full, without hesitation = Quality.

As to older stock 10 years plus If I was offered a box that I know has troubles, Lancero, panels etc I would be wary of buying from the provincial factorys.
Personally I don't bother with code shoping for recent production but aged stock it's still required.

Wasn't that, Marc. People call M2s the essence of Montecristo... They taste nothing like the Especiales, As, or even the 4s and 5s...

Also, in Cuba, I've seen mastercases just floating around. Keep in mind that if it's a good seller, you may get lucky that a few boxes are in the back as more and more mastercases continue to flood the shelves. This was the case in Calle 62 with some nice, old Montecristo 1s and Tubos.
And it's ampt. When I'm in Cuba, I just dig through the oldest ones they have. Especially on misc. cigars like Punch Punch, Partagas E2 (my favourite regular production), etc.Originally posted by ValeTudoGuyMarc's a Fat Molly

Seriously? The place we are getting the cigar stands from will send a list of everything they have with all date codes listed and you can choose from it?
I want something sealed from July 2013 but not sure what. Not sure if I am that fussy what actually.

Burn quality and asbestos wrappers aside,

Don't mind Derrek... This was probably a while back, hehehehe. He just probably used this as an example

I wouldn't and haven't sat down and trawlled through boxes and boxes looking for a specific factory code. And if I had a spreadsheet with them all on I'd certainly use it too see if my more pleasureable smokes came from one factory or another, but I don't have a spreadsheet. Although it's something I'd do I haven't this time....
I'm too busy suffering from the nicotine kick usually haha
